The Israeli Independence Day Yom Ha'atzmaut takes place on May 03, 2025. According to the Hebrew calendar that is the 5th of Iyar and that date leads back to the 5th of Iyar in 5708, which would be the 14th of May in 1948, when David Ben-Gurion proclaimed the Israeli Independence. David Ben-Gurion aka David GrĂ¼n was the first Prime Minister of Israel and he read all three parts of the Declaration of Independence in Tel Aviv. Yom Ha'atzmaut is a joyful and great city festival. If Yom Ha'atzmaut is on a Sunday it is celebrated on the following Tuesday.
It is a common custom to celebrate Yom Ha'atzmaut with family and friends and decorate your home with Israeli flags. Some people visit the battle areas of the war of independence or the various public festivities outside. There are music, picnics and barbeques. Everyone celebrates the foundation of the State Israel on Yom Ha'atzmaut just as he prefers. Prices for special success in literature, arts and science are turned over that day, too. The military forces also organize information events for the public.
