Unification Day of Cameroon 2025

Cameroon celebrates the Unification Day on October 01, 2025. This date marks the unification of French Cameroon and British Southern Cameroon after both territories gained their independence back from France or Britain in 1960 respectively in 1961.

After the festivities are started with a parade, Cameroonians spend this national holiday with participations on sports events of all kind, like wrestling, soccer matches and canoe racings. Also a 40 Km marathon is an integral part of the annually celebrated event.
