The origins of this pre-Christian holiday are associated with the harvest of fruits and vegetables, in this case especially the harvesting of apples. Savior of the Apple Feast Day is the most important of the three Savior days. Nowadays the holiday is more concerned with the Christian Feast of Transfiguration.
