Sally Ride Day is observed on May 26, 2025. Sally Kristen Ride, born on May 26, 1951, was an American physicist and astronaut. Ride joined NASA in 1978 and at the age of 32, became the first American woman to enter into low Earth orbit in 1983. She is also the youngest to go on a space mission and she is the only person who took part in both, the Challenger and the Columbia space shuttle investigation. Sally Ride died of Pancreatic cancer in 2012. Apart from Sally Ride Day the female astronaut was honored by naming schools and songs after her. Sally Ride Day can be an inspiration for girls to become the first woman who whatever.
