Presidents' Day in Botswana takes place on July 21, 2025. Since 2006 the Presidents' Day is a holiday in Botswana, a representative democratic republic in Southern Africa. Before that it was a two-day holiday and is still observed as such by the Botswana Stock Exchange for example. Diverse music, fashion, sports and dance shows are organized on Presidents Day. There also is a military parade and parties all over Botswana, especially in Gaborone.
Botswana once was a British protectorate of Bechuanaland but since 1966 it is independent from the Commonwealth. On Presidents' Day the Batswana celebrate their president and their working democratic system. Botswana has a huge problem with HIV/AIDS infections though and therefore reason to celebrate political stability and socio-economic prosperity.
