On September 02, 2025 Vietnam celebrates the declaration of independence from France and Japan in 1945, after the end of World War II. After Vietnam became part of French Indochina in 1887, it was occupied by the Japanese in World War II.
With the end of the war the national independence coalition called Viet Minh, launched the August Revolution and proclaimed the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. The Day with historical significance is celebrated extensively with speeches, parades, fireworks, and other festivities throughout the country.
