In Argentina Malvinas Day is observed on April 02, 2025 and is also known as Day of the Veterans and Fallen of the Malvinas War. It is a public holiday in Argentina celebrated each year. Before 2000 this holiday was celebrated as Day of Argentine Sovereignty over the Malvinas, Sandwich and South Atlantic Islands on June 10. The name Malvinas Day refers to the "Malvinas" islands, more commonly known as the Falkland Islands in English.
They are an archipelago in the South Atlantic Ocean and a self-governing British Overseas Territory. The men who lost their lives there during the Falklands War are commemorated and honored with Malvinas Day. However this day is not celebrated in the Falklands, where they celebrate the Liberation Day on June 14 instead.
