On May 20, 2020 Muslims celebrate the Laylat al-Qadr, also known as the Night of Power or the Night of Measures. That night Allah sent the Koran to the Prophet Mohammad. The exact date of this night has never been exposed to the people by Allah. The majority of scholars, however, assumes that the correct date is the 27th night of the month of Ramadan. Due to the Islamic lunar calendar, the date varies in the Gregorian solar calendar every year.
Prayers spoken in the Night of Power are known to be more valuable than the ones spoken within 1,000 months and therefore roundabout 83 years, according to the Koran. On this occasion the angels descend to earth, bringing them particularly close to the humans. For this reason, Muslims often spend this special night together with devotions and prayers.
