Inventors' Day in Argentina 2025

On September 29, 2025 Inventors' Day takes place in Argentina. The Argentinean date for their Inventors’ Day, which is also celebrated in many other nations on different dates, honors László József Bíró. Though born in Budapest, Hungary, Bíró became one of Argentina’s most well-known inventors of all times. The ballpoint pen was his invention in the year 1943.

This creation, originally called Birome revolutionized writing in America and Europe immediately. Inventors' Day in Argentina commemorates Bíró’s birthday. Ballpoint pens are spread all over the world and are often called biro although that was actually only Bíró’s trademark name.
