International Right to Know Day 2025

The International Right to Know Day encourages the right of access to information for all people and the benefits of transparent governments and is celebrated on September 28, 2025. It is a day to share ideas and success stories about freedom of information and its development in the world. The decision to celebrate this day was made on September 28, 2002 at the Freedom of Information litigation conference in Sofia, Bulgaria. On International Right to Know Day activists all around the world organize educational events to explain the importance of freedom of information to interested people.
