Indonesia National Education Day 2025

Indonesia National Education Day takes place on May 02, 2025. The day is also known as HARDIKNAS, which is the abbreviation for Hari Pendidikan Nasional. It was created by Ki Hajar Dewantara, who earlier changed his name from Soewardi Soerjaningrat. Ki Hajar Dewantara is called a pioneer of education for native Indonesian. He became Minister of Education and Culture in Indonesia's first cabinet. In 1959, President Sukarno declared Ki Hajar Dewantara a National Hero of Indonesia and the Father of Indonesian National Education. Indonesia National Education Day was first celebrated in May 1908.
