Independence Day of the Republic of Macedonia 2025

On Independence Day, which takes place on September 08, 2025, Macedonia celebrates its liberation from Yugoslavia. The day is celebrated since 1991, after a referendum for independence transformed Macedonia from a federal state of Yugoslavia, which it was since the end of World War II, to a sovereign parliamentary democracy. The nationwide celebrations include music concerts, festivals and fairs. People eat ethnic Macedonian food, attend cultural and historical displays, meet other fellow Macedonians and have a great time.
