On April 27, 2025 South Africa celebrates Freedom Day. It is a commemorative event dedicated to the first ever all-race, democratic election in 1994. Freedom Day marks the end of over 300 years of segregation and suppression by a white minority, therefore this national public holiday is a significant occasion for all South Africans celebrated with great enthusiasm. Freedom Day also is a day to remind people that freedom requires permanent action against corruption, racism, sexism and other forms of discrimination.
