Forefather's Day is observed on December 21. 2024. It's the commemoration of the Pilgrims’ arrival in Plymouth, Massachusetts in 1620, who left England in search of better days. Forefather's Day is mainly celebrated in New England and was introduced 1769 by the descendants of the pilgrims to honor their ancestors.
The pilgrims set sail in two ships, the Speedwell and the Mayflower, to the new world. After the Speedwell had problems they had to return to England and start all over again. Finally the pilgrims started their journey all together with the Mayflower.
