Dare Day is observed on June 01, 2025. Every year the day takes place on the first Saturday in June from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is a festival for families in Dare County, North Carolina. Outside all kinds of kids-activities are offered. There are games and music and different food, like hamburgers, hotdogs and local seafood of course. Dare Day officially starts with a prayer by the local pastor and is celebrated as the unofficial first summer-day of the year. That is why the prayer is called "Blessing of the Season".
The Dare Day festivals takes place outside no matter what the weather is like on that day. On the Boathouse Stage and Courthouse Stage diverse music and dancing shows entertain adults and their children. A highlight is Dare Day Ceremony at noon. At the Manteo Waterfront people go for a walk and refresh themselves with one of the lemonades or freshly made ice-cream. Dare Day is celebrated since 1976 when Dare County had its 200-years-anniversary.
