Constitution Day in South Korea is observed on July 17, 2025. Since 1949 Constitution Day is a national holiday in South Korea, but it is not a federal holiday and thus no day off. On Constitution Day Koreans show their national flag outsider their homes and organize various events, like for example sports. There is always a ceremony with the constitutional assembly members including the President.
The Constitution Day in South Korea commemorates the adoption and promulgation of the South Korean constitution by President Syngman in 1948. In this year South Korea has held the first separate democratic election for national assembly members. On July 17th also the Korean Kingdom of Great Joseon was founded in 1897.
