Sinking of the Titanic
Significance: National Titanic Remembrance Day is dedicated to the memory of April in 1912, when the "the unsinkable ship", the Titanic, sank. The more than 1,500 people who died that day are remembered. The ship hit an iceberg, at 11:40 pm on her maiden voyage from England to New York City.
