World Sauntering Day is celebrated on June 19, 2025. The day aims to remind us to take it easy, smell the roses, look at the sky, slow down, and enjoy life as opposed to rushing through it. Go ahead, and take some quality time with yourself, some "me time". The holiday is also known as International Sauntering Day, as it is celebrated around the globe. The day was invented by W.T. Rabe in 1979. It was a response to jogging, which became kind of an hype back then. The day is said to be first celebrated at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island in Michigan, USA. The verb sauntering describes a slowly type of walking, during which you are able to enjoy the world around you.
